Denby 'Cheviot' Vase by Glyn Colledge

1950's Denby Cheviot vase by Glyn Colledge, 42 cm in height, mint condition and signed! According to an article in BBC Homes & Antiques by Natasha Goodfellow 'Cheviot Ware, designed by Glyn Colledge is now perhaps Denby's most covetable range. Only around 160 Cheviot vases were made'.

Prof. Otto Poertzel Bisque Porcelain Figurine Mother and Child

Antique bisque porcelain figure of a mother and child by Professor Otto Poertzel (1876 - 1963), 25 cm in height including the wooden base and 26 cm wide at base, factory stamp 11241 on porcelain base, sympathetic restoration to some of the hands. Otto Poertzel was born in Scheibe, Germany, he was the son of a porcelain designer. He studied at the Porcelain Industry Technical School under Professor R. Moller before setting up as a sculptor in Coburg in 1900. Poertzel in particularly famous for his Art Deco bronze figurines.
